I applied for a job today. I kind of can't believe that I did it. I haven't applied for a job in six years. I didn't even have a copy of my resume and had to build one from scratch. Here's what I learned when working on my resume:
1. I'm really good at my job.
2. I'm really underappreciated at my job.
3. I know a lot of things about a lot of things.
4. Moving on might not be as scary as I first thought.
Why?
Because I got to where I am by myself and I can get myself to the next place too. I didn't lie in my resume. I am a loyal, trustworthy, dependable colleague. I am a good employee. I just have bosses with questionable ethics.
But I can do it. I can move on.
Move up.
Move out.
