My week was going so well. I went back to work and was a busy, busy bee. I started up bootcamp again and although it was painful and hard, it felt great to be back.
And then, suddenly, I felt it. I sore spot on the back right side of my throat. I had a glass of water. I had dinner. I went to bootcamp. I knew it wasn't good that I had drunk most of my water before the class really got going. I felt dehydrated. I got through class fine but when I got home - boom - it hit me. I was sick. The sore spot on my throat had spread across the rest of the back of my throat and it was hard to swallow.
I watched Dragon's Den (I can't help but love that show but I'm disappointed that they have "guests" on it now like Mike Holmes and Debbie Travis. It's so tacky.) Then I went to bed. I couldn't swallow so I couldn't sleep. The pain was horrible and I have to admit, I was being a bit of a baby. I was getting upset because I couldn't get to sleep because I was so uncomfortable. I finally got up and made some Neo-Citron and drank that with hopes that it would knock me out. While drinking it I emailed my boss to let her know it was highly unlikely that I'd be in to work today.
I went back to bed. I slept until 9. When I got up, I felt wretched. I mean really, really bad. I slept for most of today and then watched tv. I don't usually watch much tv but when you're sick, it's all you can muster. Now I'm ready to go back to bed. I feel lucky that this appears to be just a 24 hour bug and not H1N1 or some of those other horror shows- of - a- flu but still. Being sick kind of blows.
However, I did learn today from watching Oprah that Danish people are the happiest in the world. Go Danes!
Better luck tomorrow!
