Sometimes I'm a little slow on the uptake.
Tomorrow we meet with our lawyer and give them the remaining dregs of our savings, as well as a huge amount of money for our downpayment. (gah.)
We get the keys to the house on Monday.
My usual keen organizational skills have failed me and I'm left feeling lost and overwhelmed.
(not to mention that the anxiety is enabling me to hear my pounding heartbeat in my ears and forcing me to take short, shallow breaths.)
Everyone says it's the biggest purchase of your life and I think I just realized how big it is
(see? slow on uptake)
I can't wait for all of the paperwork to be done and just get the keys and start moving in.
Then I get to recover from watching all of our money get drained from our account.
But I'll get used to that - right?

You are not the only one slow on the uptake. The boy literally had to sit me down a few days ago and say 'no more shopping, (esp. jcrew) because look....' and he showed me how little the bank account # would be after the down payment and closing costs. It was kind of like a slap in the face - and I did not enjoy it.
Ah how I love jcrew. And miss them! Sob! It's definitely an adjustment!
