bigger than the average breadbox

So when we went to St. Jacob's on the weekend, I found this little baby:

I know - you're thinking - wha?
It's a breadbox! A double decker breadbox!

It's in pretty good condition and the door slide up and go into the top to reveal the shelves.

But I'm not going to use it as a breadbox - oh, no.

I'm going to use it for this!

a desk organizer!

It looks kind of lame in the photo because I was taking pictures in the kitchen (since I don't actually have a desk yet to put it on)
but I thought it would be great to hold mail, bills, desk supplies, etc.

I was pretty tickled by my find.
My fella said he never would have looked at it and thought to use it for something like that but hey- I'm all about the desk stuff these days and I was glad I spotted it high atop a shelf.

I'm an avid reader of Real Simple Magazine and they always have "new uses for old things" , which I love.
It was $15 which seemed reasonable to me.

Here are a couple other pics from St. Jacob's.
I'm regretting not availing ourselves of this:

and I thought these were really pretty:

that's all for now!
