Butter Cow

Last week (ok maybe it was two weeks ago) we went to the Royal Winter Fair.

It would have been more fun if I hadn't been completely exhausted, had had dinner and not President's Choice chocolate mint cookies that they were handing out at the Superdogs show (they are delicious but not nutritionally substantial at all...)

Here are some highlights:

pigets.
they were 8 days old!

show sheep wearing weird outfits.

dyed chickens.

People seemed freaked out by these.
And with good reason.
There was a sign saying they were dyed "for fun"
but I don't think it was for the fun of the chickens.

really big pumpkins....

i love donkeys.
Look how cute he is?

Superdogs

The sign says
"Deutsche Baug"
(with umlauts on the u's)
It then says
"German for Food in a Bag"

Below the sign there are pictures of what appears to be bags of various types of Doritos.
It looks like they've opened the bag and  put other foods in with the chips.
Utterly gross.
This, in my opinion, seems like a terrible idea.
Terrible.

And yes,
the butter cow.
A cow, made of butter, eating a cob of corn, also made of butter.
People didn't seem to understand the butter sculptures.
I, too, found them mildly disturbing.

But there it is.
