Update!
I'm loving Into the Wild.
I no longer think Chris McCandless was an idiot.
The movie doesn't do him any justice.
There was a lot more to the guy than him trotting off into the Northern Tundra.
I'm just over halfway through and enjoying every page.

I don't know why, but I can't get into this:

I know it's supposed to be good but I find myself skimming over the words
but not really taking anything in.

It may be a little too...wordy for me.

In an effort to avoid reading the hedgehog book,
I picked up this one:

It's called 40 Watts from Nowhere
and it's by Sue Carpenter.

Sue Carpenter started a pirate radio station
in San Francisco (KPBJ) in the 90's
and then moved to LA and started KBLT.

How can you not love a story about radio stations named after sandwiches?

It's a hilarious read by a very cool person.
She also wrote for Jane Magazine (RIP) and the LA Times.
It's an impressive story of how she eludes the FCC and opens the radio world to new and fabulous music that didn't get played anywhere and gave freedom to DJ's that they never would have had otherwise.

Condsidering this was a Goodwill find AND it was a Friday Fever half-price find
AND both fella and I read it,
I'd say we got our money's worth.

Now I'm working on Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer.

I saw the movie and thought Chris McCandless was stupid, wasteful and foolish.
But I was curious to better understand what would take him to the place he went
and why the author related to him so closely.
It's good so far - we'll see where it goes!
