I've been in a weird headspace this week.
I think it happens to me often at this time of year.
I get restless.
It's dark by the time I get home so I lose my motivation to do, well, anything.
(other than watch episodes of True Blood and Big Love - have you seen that show? Strangely fascinating....)
Anyway - I had a little moment of clarity this morning.
I bought a new pair of pants and they are a bit tight.
I haven't worked out since before we moved.
I'd like to lose some lbs by my upcoming big 4-0.
so tonight - rather than sit my butt on the couch for three hours or so
(and consume a couple of glasses of wine)
I'm going to embark on this:
I've tried it before.
I will try it again.
Here's my logic:
we are about to embark on the holiday season
(which includes copious amounts of eating and drinking and for me: baking.
I'm not a very good baker but I enjoy it all the same.
I've decided to make gifts for my co-workers this year -
it's a nice gesture and something I've never done before. I also have a more baking-friendly kitchen.)
I'm kind of bored in the evenings.
My fella works ridiculous hours (4 a.m. to 1 or 2 p.m.) so he goes to bed really early (like 7:30!) which means I'm on my own for the rest of the evening and while sometimes it's nice,
sometimes it's lonely.
So I'm thinking that if I can do the "Shred" for 30 days, that will get me through half of December
and get my waistline in check.
But first, I have to hook up my tv.
(we don't have cable and haven't even turned on the tv since we moved.)
There's also very little furniture in that room so there's lots of space for jumping jacks!
I'll keep you posted on my progress!
