Open House

My fella wants to have an open house on Boxing Day.

When I started thinking about the prep and work this will entail,

my heart started racing a bit and I felt my stomach rising to my throat.

I'm not well rehearsed in the area of  "entertaining".
I want everything to be perfect
and organized
and delicious
but I also know that this usually means I don't get to talk to anyone, eat or drink anything
or have time to go to the bathroom.

So:
Planning is key.
(because having an open house is one thing
but having on the day after Christmas is another thing entirely.)

It's time to get out the dozen or so holiday magazines I've bought over the past few weeks
and channel my inner Martha.
But if anyone has any suggestions on how to maintain my sanity
please step up.
Don't be shy.
After all, Christmas eve is a month from today.
Ack!

good advice - I hate dusting too and with two cats, it seems to breed in our house. However, I love it when it's clean! I'm toying with the idea of getting a cleaning lady to come in once a month. It seems like such an indulgence but at the same time, a fantastic idea! I'll keep you posted. Good luck with your "do's"!
