Get Outside

I don't know about you
but I am positively itching for spring.
To see green things
to get out in the garden
and get out of the house.

I love our house
but I feel like one of my favorite rooms has been off limits since September.

How fitting then, that Etsy's daily email was on this very subject today!

How cute are these bird feeders?

Last week I was scrolling through some photos and I found this:

I showed it to fella and he didn't recognize it as our own backyard right away.
But it is! And it's coming!
Spring is coming!

Friends with Lightning Bolts

I think I mentioned that I watched Friends with Benefits a few weeks ago.

It's a pretty cute movie
but more inspiring is Mila Kunis' wardrobe in said movie.

I think what I love about it is how simple it is.

Exhibit A:

How adorable is she?

Exhibit B:

love those shoes with that dress!

Exhibit C:

love the hair too. sweet.

And finally:

Knowing that I can't suddenly

shrink 8 inches

grow 8 inches of hair

get big brown eyes

lose - oh - a bunch of lbs

I decided to settle on the one thing that always fits.

Accessories.

I loved the lightning bolt necklace she wore throughout the movie.
Since the original can be yours for a cool $820
I went to the next best thing.

Etsy!

There I found this:

$35!

It may not make me petite
or a Manhattanite
or catch Justin Timberlake's eye
but I'll feel pretty
and that makes it a win!

These lovely necklaces are by Tina Taroff, an artist from San Francisco.
Wouldn't they be sweet?

Here are two of my favorites:

November 07, 2011

I try to not think about Christmas in November.
It's too soon.
The mild weather we're having helps remind us that it's still fall
and make us think that we might not be inching closer to winter.

I love buying and writing Christmas cards every year.
It was something my mom always did
and I'm sure that has a lot to do with why I do.

I'm kind of old fashioned when it comes to correspondence -
sadly, I don't write letters much anymore
but it wasn't so long ago that I did.

I choose my cards pretty carefully
and I thought I'd see what Etsy has on offer this year.
It's a bit overwhelming -
there were over 56,000 to choose from (I didn't go through them all...)
But here were a few that caught my eye ~

$15 for 6 cards

$15 for 10 cards
(I quite like these ones!)

$12 for 12 cards

$12 for 12

I'm not a dog person, really, but who could resist this guy?

$12 for 6

Sigh.
How does a girl choose?

April 26, 2011

picnic anyone?

I just bought these little cuties from etsy.
$12 for 6!
Bargain!
I think they'll be great for summer eats in the backyard.
And on a yucky day like today
that's what I'm dreaming of....

Love Match

I'm not really one much for Valentine's Day
(although I did wear a pink sweater AND my new necklace in honour the day)
but isn't this cute?

it's from Etsy
I guess it's a little late for this year but maybe next?

etsy love

My friend who works in the office next to mine
knows and appreciates (and shares)
my love for weird, old stuff.
Her cousin has an etsy shop called

and she sent me a link to this little cutie:

yes, that's right.
It's a little pyrex dish with a kitty on it!
It's due to arrive this week.
I can't wait!

I love paper.
writing paper
note paper
wrapping paper
but most of all,

journals.

these are gorgeous

$125 for all five

but I particularly love this one:

it's $35
Which is a little steep for my budget.
I'll just admire it from afar.

last weekend we were in the Annex
and went into one of my favorite arts stores: Midoco
and I decided I couldn't live without this baby:

except mine is orange.
It's be Semikolon.
Their stuff is so gorgeous.
Sigh.

Now I just have to fill 'er up!

Love!
(damn my post holiday budget freeze!)

(I absolutely love their photographs. I think I'm in love with this model because she reminds me of Pearl from Boardwalk Empire.)
(which I finished last night and am totally kicking myself for watching it all! It's a Mad Men-like fixation!)
